Goalkeepers are specialists within a team and therefore require a different approach to skills, techniques and even mindset.
The position of goalkeeper is one of the most psychologically demanding on the football field. Great saves and blocks are temporary . . . mistakes are final !!
The glory is usually reserved for the players at the other end of the field.

It's not a position for everybody.

At Giffnock Soccer Centre we run Specialist Goalkeeper Training for kids from 8 years and up.

These sessions are currently held at Williamwood High School 3G pitch each Friday evening.

The sessions will run from

• 6:30pm until 7:30 for P4, P5 & P6
• 6:30 until 8pm for the over 10s to 16+

If your child plays for Giffnock Soccer Centre and is interested in developing their Goalkeeping skills, please send them along.

Using Positive Coaching, Certified SFA Goalkeeper Coaches will take the kids through  -

• 3 Golden Rules of Goalkeeping
• Skills and technique practice
• Equipment advice
• Assessments on recent performances

Most importantly, with Goalkeepers being 'MAD', we all have FUN diving around.

You can't be stupid to play in goal ..... but perhaps you must be a little Crazy !
