Once again Spiders proved to be tough opposition, they played good football and clearly deserved their victory. Their 'teamwork' and support for each other was solid and there were some outstanding individual performances. Well done Spiders.
As part of player-development the coaches decided to play most of the County lads out of their normal position and this was obvious in the pattern of County's play. The team lacked structure, the lads did not look like a team and too many boys hung onto the ball for far too long, being caught in possession time after time, making basic errors and gifting opportunties to the opposition.
On the positive side, it was good to see Michael Goold making his comeback today after recovering from a broken leg. Also in the team was young Andrew Hume - well done Andrew for your effort - you didn't put a foot wrong at all.
Jack's 2nd goal was also worth a mention, he won the ball just inside the opposition half and ran in to slot it calmly past the keeper. Jack's speed, strength and commitment is always evident.
Coaches comments. This was a wake-up call and we've all learned some lessons. See you at training on Tuesday - there's plenty of work to do...
