Happy New Year to you all.

The first outing for County in 2008 was a very difficult encounter with a strong Clyde team who we had played twice before in cup competitions.These are the games to blow away the cobwebs.

There was a minute's silence before the game in memory of Craig who was so tragically killed in a car accident at xmas.Everyone was thinking of Craig and his family and the coaches and team-mates of his GSC team.God Bless.

The game was an excellent match from the very start and the scoring went as follows:
1-0.....Paul following a fantastic move down the left
1-1...from the k.o.
1-2...
2-2...a cracking equaliser from Jack
2-3
3-3..another belter from Paul
3-4
4-4...a well worked goal with a right foot finish from Liam
4-5
5-5..a great move down the left and Jack got on the end of it
5-6..the winner was a long ball through thr midle 5 mins from end

A real cracker and just what we needed to get back into the swing of things and sets us up for a run of tough games to come. Everybody played their part and ,whilst Jack an Paul really caught the eyewit tremendous inter-play and attacking zest,Anton and Tam were very solid at the back,and Craig and Tom played strongly in midfield.However,the unanimous MOM was Lewis in goal ,who made a series of excellent saves and kept us in it until the very end....well done to you Lewis!!!!

This was all about the performance rarther than the result and we were pleased with the commitment and energy levels.These were a very good team and we did well enough lads.....well done!!!
