Another 4-2 victory....1-0 behind again...it's the same old County......BUT.. ....we are Top of the League!!!!!!

Sat 27th Oct 2007 League
Dalvait 0
Giffnock S C County 0

The game was over-shadowed by a serious injury to Michael Goold, who suffered a fractured leg.

Michael - All the boys, coaches and parents are thinking about you. You are one of our best players and a really great guy to have around - please get well soon.

From everyone at County & GSC.

The game itself was a real thriller and the large crowd could not understand how it stayed 0-0.This was, in fact ,due to both goalies who both had MOM performances,Lewis was excellent throuhout and kept County in it with three spectacular saves....one a thunderbolt that was destined for the roof of the net.Having said that,we created more chances than they did and their goalie stopped all that came his way.Well done to both of you.
It was clear from the outset that Dalvait were a very good, fair and hard working team who will give allcomers a good game this season. We played well in patches and Paul was a constant menace down the left but we failed continually to get on the end of his crosses.Craig battled all game in midfield and attack and richly deserved his supporters mom...well done Craig.
Jack hit an absolute belter which would have beaten any other goalie with 10 mins to go.
As usual, all the subs played an important part and Tam did very well with Kevin in the middle after Micheal's injry, and Joe also made a difference when he came on.

The game could have gone either way at the end and a draw was a fair result.
We now need to regroup and reorganise ourselves and training is very imporant as we consider how to play V Huchtevale on SUNDAY(KO-11.00AM IN Edinburgh)
We will be leaving Parklands at 8.30am,hopefully in a bus but we may still need transport.

Well done for sticking in there on sat...We could have easily lost that game and we showed real character.
Michael and David
