Having been unsuccesful in their last 2 games against the league champions, County coaches knew that they had to do something different this time, so why not try the 4-1-4-1 formation as this seems to be working for professional teams - e.g. Rangers against Stuggard?
County started well using this formation and soon created a couple good chances, but Hamilton were proving once again to be a tough and well organised side. Although County had height advantage, the Hamilton boys were physically stronger and were winning most of the tackles.
After a groggy opening 10-15 minutes, County appeared to be on top with some good passing and running moves, but they couldn't put the ball in the net. Reverting quickly to 4-4-2 County upped the pace - and it turned out to be a pulsating match.
At about 20 mins gone, play continued for some time after Michael was knocked to the gound with a head injury. He was still on the ground when Hamilton scored with a thunderbolt shot into the roof of the net.
County kept their compusure and shape and looked dangerous on the break. Especially, Paul who went on a number of lung-bursting runs on the left wing. He sailed passed the Hamilton defence time after time but County support play and finishing was not up to scratch.
In the second half, the pace of the game was even faster, - a real nerve-racking affair for the coaches and supporters. County equalised with about 10 minutes to go, after an excellent through pass and diagonal run from Dougie - he rounded the keeper and cut back to Jack who scored a tap-in.
County deserved at least a point, so it was a major set back when Hamilton scored again to go 2-1 up, from a free kick. The County support felt it wasn't to be their day when, a minute later, Paul went on a mazey run beating everyone including the keeper only to see his shot cleared off the line.
But, shortly afterwards, Euan picked up the ball on the right hand side, beat the full back and passed inside to Paul; Paul knocked the ball into space then ran on to it shooting high into the net. What a finish!
Final score 2-2
Scorers Jack & Paul

Coaches' MOM - Paul. Excellent display of skill and commitment.
Special mention to Michael G who had another outstanding game as team captain. He motivated the other lads through-out the match.
Coaches' comments.
Anyone watching this game would have enjoyed it - the lads just kept pushing ahead despite going behind twice against the run of play. The key leaning point from this game is to be patient and never give up. When you are playing well, goals will come.
