Another 4-2 victory....1-0 behind again...it's the same old County......BUT.. ....we are Top of the League!!!!!!

Sat 15th Sep 2007 Cup
Giffnock S C County 7
Mark Bradley (2)
Dougie Hay (1)
Liam McGonigle (2)
Jack Kirwan (1)
Drumchapel 0

County got off to an excellent start when, after just a few minutes, Paul glided past two opposing players on the left wing, he then hit a perfectly timed cross to Jack who scored from about 8 yards.

Paul repeated this move 10 minutes later, this time he picked-out Mark who made it 2-0 with an excellent finish.

For the rest of the 1st half County played good passing football and always looked dangerous in attack. (This was typified Kevin's overlapping run from deep in his own half all the way to the opposition's corner flag!).

The 3rd goal came from a defence-splitting pass that sent Craig clear with only the keeper to beat. Cool as a cucumber Craig placed a fine shot into the corner of the net.

HT 3-0

After half time the supporters were treated to one of the best worked goals of the season so far. This started with Tam at right back, playing it through to Mark, who controlled it well and switched play to the Liam on the left side of the pitch. Liam created loads of space for himself with an excellent first touch, he then hit a perfect strike past the big keeper. 4-0.

Dougie, Mark and Liam then got one each before the final whistle. 7-0.

Supporters MOM = Paul. Full of flair and slick running on the wing, creating chance after chance for County.

Coaches MOM = Mark. Mr Unflappable. A wizard in midfield - showing coolness and intelligent use of the ball.

Scorers - Mark (2) Jack (1) Liam (2) Dougie (1)Craig (1)

Coaches comments - "After winning 7-0 our attackers deserve a pat on the back, but our defensive display was also first class today. Michael, Kevin, Tam, Callum and Anton were just terrific in defence, and they were supported well by Lewis, Thomas, Leo and Euan. Good teamwork.

Drumchapel played some good football and showed lots of skill on the ball - they didn't deserve to lose by such a margin".
