Glentyan Thistle 0

Dear Readers,

We were worried about the westher and the pitch but the game went on in glorious sunshine and on a beauty of a pitch, and our boys responded magnificently.
Glentyan Thistle were well organised and tough to break down but we played some of our best football ever as we passed beautifully from the back through midfield and combining really well with Chris and Craig up front.
Joe had to go off after 2 minutes with a groin strain....unlucky Joe....a little rest is needed I think.

The battle was reall won in midfield as Conor, Paddy, Euan and Andy G got really stuck in and then passed well to other County players...it was great to watch lads!!!!!

The defence was being well marshalled by Graham ,with Scott, Anton and Kevin giving great protection to Lewis who was rarely troubled.

With poor old Fraser being out of action for a while(everyone was asking after you Fraser...don't worry...you will be back soon), we were concerned whether we could transform our supremacy into goals and we did not need to worry....a sumptious move down the left with Anton, Andy G and Craig inter-linking and Chris controlled and turned in one movement and absolutely blasted the ball into the back of the net from 20 yards....what a goal....get in!!!!

We had to wait until just before half time when another flowing move saw Conor go round the goalie only to be brought down...Penalty. Conor grabbed the ball and cooly slotted home...2-0 at half time.

Martin and Liam came on in the second half and immediately linked up with Chris and the midfield and their intelligent running and movement gave Paddy ,in particular, more and more room which he exploited adroitly. In a blinding performance in a 20 minute spell Paddy scored one of the best ever hat tricks seen in a County shirt:

The first was a series of 1-2's and a cool finish
The second was a cut in from the right and again a cool finish
The best was saved for last as Paddy won an impossible tackle, got up and played some great 1-2's with Martin and Liam and then buried it.....get in!!!!!!
A brilliant overall performance Paddy and you deserve the coaches MOM and the magnum of sparkly that your dad will but you!!!

We continued to play some great stuff and every single one of you deserve the accolades today lads....we salute you all.

A SUPER TEAM PERFORMANCE THAT HAD THEIR COACHES, THE REF AND EVEN THE GROUNDSMAN, PURRING WITH DELIGHT!!!

FINAL RESULT...5-0
