MOJAMS WHITE 1
GSC JUVENTUS 4

Chris Rae (1)
Tiernan McEnroe (1)
Ross Geddes (2)

A great start to this season with an impressive victory against a very decent side. The sloping pitch and strong wind made it hard for both teams and Mojams were the stronger of the 2 sides in the opening exchanges playing good football against the wind.

However, Juventus opened the scoring with a magnificent long range shot from McEnroe who up to that point had been unusually quiet in midfield. A second followed shortly thereafter after good work down the left from Lamond andMcBride who showed good composure on the ball before crossing for Geddes - who looked really sharp after his long term injury - to score with a volley. 2-0 at half time.

Mojams came into the game storngly just after the break with the wind now at their backs and they put the Juve back 4 under considerable pressure. Keeper Smith showed good hands under pressure from corners and kicked well all day. A loose ball in the area allowed Mojams to score and back into the game and would have equalised if Milligan hadn't made 2 goal line clearances in quick succession.

With Cumming now able to get into the game in the 2nd half, his strong running was causing the home team problems and this resulted in a 3rd for Juventus with Rae latching onto a loose ball in the area after Cumming had shot and despite 2 deflections, Juve were 3-1 up.

A 4th from Geddes late on sealed a great victory.

Goold was outstanding at the back along with his central defensive partner Milligan.

Rae and Farren competed well in midfield and strong running from McBride, Geddes and Cumming caused Mojams problems all day. Trialist Downie shoed up well in the time he had on the park.
